About the Role
As a Program Manager for Government Programs at Astra Dynamics, you will be responsible for managing complex engineering timelines and executing critical public sector initiatives. Working closely with our executive leadership and technical R&D heads, you will navigate the intricate frameworks of federal contracts. Your leadership will ensure our deep-tech prototypes meet rigorous milestones and compliance metrics, serving as the trusted operational bridge between pioneering technology and national security programs.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Own and manage the execution of government programs, strictly navigating Descriptions of Work (DoW), federal frameworks, and complex reporting structures.
Coordinate cross-functionally with systems, optical, and mechanical engineers to track progress against technical milestones.
Analyze program resource requirements, critical paths, and project risks to ensure on-time delivery of prototypes.
Serve as the primary operational point of contact for government stakeholders, partners, and technical monitors.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
3+ years of program management experience, specifically handling government contracts, defense programs, or SBIRs.
Demonstrated experience managing complex delivery schedules and navigating strict government compliance frameworks.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored for technical, legal, and administrative reporting.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Familiarity with FAR/DFARS compliance regulations and defense procurement cycles.
Experience working inside a fast-paced aerospace, defense, or deep-tech hardware startup.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
